strategy is the core of the marketing mix or marketing 4P portfolio which
consist of price strategy, distribution or place strategy and promotion
strategy. Besides, product strategy is also defined as a road map of the
product which means to describe the kind of products and features that will be
built by the company to realize its strategy and vision. The companies will fully
utilize the product strategy in terms of strategic planning in order to
identify the direction of the company’s activities. In a certain sense, the
product strategy and its ability to satisfy the need of customers has play a
crucial role as a key of success and development of an enterprises.
First of all,
food and beverage is seem to be a hot trend in the business world now a day. A
single food and beverage company can be expanded globally by franchising or
retailing as long as the product and service itself has a great attractiveness.
The product that I would like to introduce is the Puri. Puri also refers to a
fried Indian puffed bread which is a special Indian delicacy. It is a food
originating from the India subcontinent, the Puri is popular as it can be found
in region such as India, Bangladesh, Burma, Nepal, Pakistan, Malaysia and
Singapore. With its popularity, it provides us a larger market to run our
business. As we commence the business, the Puri is already well known and easy to understand product in certain country so we do not have to spend extra effort
or money on promoting. In future, the business could expand to multinational
level because of its market and popularity.
The Puri is
an unleavened deep fried bread and eaten for breakfast or snack or light meal.
The Puri is often served with a curry and or sweet dishes such as milk and
sugar. It also served at special or ceremonial implementation as a part of a
ceremonial rituals along with the other vegan dishes offered in prayer as
prasadam. Puri usually is the choice for festivals and special occasions. The traditional
Puris are prepared with wheat flour, which is converted into dough with cumin
seeds, oil and salt, while our Puri add extra blended vegetable or fruit and
mixing it with flour and other ingredients. The cumin seed is added to the
dough then deep fried in vegetable oil. The puri puff up like a rounded ball
during a deep frying because of the moisture in the dough changes into steam
which lead to the expansion upon all direction. They are removed after the
color turned in golden brown and serving
with hot temperature. There a variant of Puri, it usually has variance of sizes
depends on the region and a mini puri will be eaten with a larger amount of sweet accompaniments.
The traditional food and beverage company runs
in a simple way as they place their main concern in the taste, convenience and
cost of producing the food. The modern market of food and beverage company is
switching to a more and wider perspective as the attractiveness of the modern
food can be measured by a few aspects such as healthy, appearance and hygiene.
The special design of our product is adding an extra ingredient to the Puri with fruit and high protein flour. Besides, some
flavoring, sweetening and oil usage will be reduced in making the Puri to enhance
its healthiness. The output of the Puri that we product is a semi-rounded
puffed bread with a palm seize and it is served with hot temperature. The
appearance of our Puri are colorful made with natural flavor and coloring. Different
colors found in the Puri represented different fruits and ingredients such as
carrot and spinach. The ingredients are suitable to attract the customer form
all regions. Our product is sold at an affordable price can be eaten like fast food. It is one veggie and the color is attractive which have a large
market for both vegetarian and children.
The product will position into the mind of
the customers as it is healthy and delicious. Not only that we concern about the
service, quality of product and decoration of the restaurant, we will launch the marketing and services of products on the website, mobile and create our own blogger
to increase its popularity. We create extra services such as social media
sites collecting the feedback of consumers. We believe that the food and beverage
business will increase its potential if it mixes up with modern technology,
so there will be many area that we can exploit the effort of technological material.
We will ensure that we can increase the mobile adoption by 50 percent in food
ordering and the mobile ordering device will be provided by the store as well. We
are seeking to reach an initial public offering in the next 10 years to increase
its revenue and size.
We will create a more transparent platform in the food and beverage industry. We will create a simplified and easily understanding report
and post it on the website regarding the operation and sales. We believe that
publishing a better report will relate to performance improvement. We will be implementing a better strategy to promote our product during some festivals and
Deepavali such as value set, celebrating package and seasoning decoration of
the store. We will focus the rest of marking effort in online, website and
social media to achieve cost efficiency and high effectiveness.
